about powering australia

WHO WE ARE

Powering Australia is a federally funded Industry Growth Centre focused on strengthening Australia’s clean-tech manufacturing. As a dedicated resource, Powering Australia connects industry, investment, and research to help transform our natural resources into sustainable industrial capability. With teams across five states, we support the development of jobs in transport, energy generation, networks, and industrial decarbonisation, alongside First Nations business outcomes.

We deliver the Building Future Battery Capabilities Program, which focuses on developing Battery Workforce Skills and Training. We also manage the Demonstrator Stream to support the commercialisation of Australian battery technologies. Powering Australia works to support clean-tech industries that contribute to economic resilience, domestic demand, and industrial ecosystems.

Powering Australia - championing australia’s clean energy economy

CHAMPIONING AUSTRALIA’S CLEAN ENERGY ECONOMY

Clean technology manufacturing provides a generational opportunity to build a more resilient and diversified economy.

The global clean-tech manufacturing market is evolving, valued at A$2 trillion in 2024. Australia has a clear opportunity to establish competitive advantages in this shift by leveraging its critical minerals, renewable energy resources, and technical expertise. Strengthening our clean-tech industries helps diversify exports and creates jobs across regions and communities, including opportunities for First Nations businesses.

Coordinated action to build capability and stable supply chains is fundamental for Australia to realise the economic and environmental benefits of the clean energy transition. The efforts made today will help determine how Australia transitions its industrial base toward advanced, high-value manufacturing.

The challenge is significant, and the focus must remain on practical, high-impact outcomes. Partner with Powering Australia to support the growth of manufacturing that benefits our regions and communities.

FIRST NATIONS ENGAGEMENT

Powering Australia acknowledges the deep knowledge, cultural strength and enduring contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We are committed to working in genuine partnership with First Nations communities and businesses to grow Australia’s clean energy future.

Through collaboration, respect and shared opportunity, we support Indigenous-led participation in renewable technologies, manufacturing and economic development.

Ensuring the energy transition delivers for Country, culture and community.
